Daniel will sometime take a Nuby soother, or Life brand, they are the same ones. He really prefers his thumb. I have also heard good things about soothies, they seem to be shaped like a bottle nipple.

In Australia we call them dummies. I have no ideas why…perhaps because it is a fake nipple. My babies (I have had 3) all refused them because they were latex and the taste was nasty. So I have been absolutely no help. All I can suggest is to persevere

When my son was younger (he’s since weened himself when he was recently sick), the only pacifiers he would use was the Soothie by The First Years (http://www.learningcurve.com/product/detail/Y4375A2?locale=en_US). He used it and loved it, after we had gone through tons of different brands and types. Hopefully that might help

Our daughter and son never took a soother and both preferred our fingers to suck until at about 11 weeks they were able to start sucking their own fingers. Sigh. My daughter is almost 5 and still sucks her fingers

It looks like all those are silicone which is a little harder. I don't know if you have tried the latex but my kiddos did the best with those. They are a lot softer and maybe that will help her. I can’t weigh in on this issue (except that – I got your baby a soother that isn’t pictured here! Maybe you should try it… perhaps raspbabies only like raspberry soothers.), but I can give your fingers a break on Saturday for a while!

The soother you got Hailey is more of a teether soother. I will try that when she starts teething- hopefully she takes that!

My brother’s twins, which are 6 months old right now, both don’t take soothers. They suck like mad on their own hands though. I find it soothes them to hold them straight up against your chest and their head resting on your shoulder. Works everytime and they even fall asleep like that often.

Hailey will suck on her hand, when she can find it that is. She soothes when I hold her up, but that’s only if she is calm in the first place.
