Vay. Cay. Shun.
Since the last time I took a vacation day was in August, I do believe that I am ready for a trip. (Although does it count as a vacation when you are going to your homeland to visit family? I have promised myself that my next vacation or trip is for the sake of an adventure, not to see family.)
I’m going to the Farm for 10 days to stare at my niece be a good Auntie, meet Hailey for the first time, help out in the barn, be a good maid of honour, meet up with this girl and this girl and hopefully plan a date with this girl (oh, did I forget to tell you that, Nancy? Le’ts hang out!), and pretty much just be really cool.
Oh, and I get paid to go on vacation. That is the best part of a full-time with benefits job – I go on vacation and they pay me as if I am working. Can you tell I am new to this whole “career” thing?
I’ve planned my next vacation already. Well, my next two vacations. First vacation is to Panorama for some snowboarding in a few weeks – I’ll do some reading by the fire, drink more than some beers and swim in hot pools. The next one? Well, my girl friend Nat and I are going to book time off and decide the night before where we are going. It’s like I’m channeling my Halloween costume – I’ll be all “Where in the world is Leah Carmen San Diego?” Could be Vancouver, could be Mexico, could be Turks & Caicos. Who knows, but it’ll be fun, that’s for sure. (There is a slight chance this ridiculous vacation was planned over a few pints at the pub with a snowstorm swirling around outside…)

I like your last minute trip plans – Amanda and I tried to do that once and were thiiis close to booking a cheeeap trip to Portugal in 4th year over reading week, but when we went to book it it said it was all sold out so she booked a trip to Colorado to visit a friend instead. The next day the Portugal trip was back up and we kicked ourselves. She went to Colorado and I spent the entire reading week watching One Tree Hill DVDs. Which in hindsight sounds pretty sweet.

I am in the same boat with my only vacations being visiting family back east. I promised myself this year I would actually take a vacation somewhere warm, with palm trees.

I love this post. I love this post not because I’m mentioned in it but because it means I get to see your pretty face again very, very soon! I am on forced vacation right now and i’m just trying to make the most of it. I would love a trip somewhere sunny some time soon though but that’ll just have to wait for another few years!! :S Anyway, can’t WAIT to see you!!

and to answer your question… nope! for once i don’t have any vacations in the works. its a bit shocking (especially if you know me) but i’m so happy with my life right now, i don’t feel the need to escape.

Where in the world vacation is unsure of dates still. Probably the beginning of April-ish. I love the way you put that, about not feeling the need to escape. Contentment is a beautiful thing!
9 more days til my next vacation – off to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico!!
It’ll be the first country I’ve been to that I won’t understand the language, and the first international trip for us as a couple. It’ll ALSO be the first time Keith will meet my dad!!

All your upcoming trips sounds like they will be really fun. Once my college friends and I decided to take a trip to no where. We literally packed some bags, a cooler, and a map and just drove where ever we felt like. We went to the beach, to the mountains, and then home. We were only gone 4 days but during that time we had so much fun!
That. Vacation. Sounds. Amazing. I just picture you gals driving in a convertible with scarves on your heads a la Thelma and Louise and some really amazing mix tapes. Very fun!
My only vacations are trips home too, except for my honeymoon. I think in June we’re going to Vegas for a long weekend!! We’re trying to get a bunch of people to come along, including people from Ontario. Like a meet up vacation. WooHoo!

I am in the same boat! No vaca day since August, awww it’s wearing on me. Going home or to visit family, in my family is hardly a vacation, but hope that yours turns out fun and adventurous.
