Weight – Slacker mom never got Brianna weighed for her 5 month birthday

Length  –See above.

Diapers – Size 3, she kept peeing out of her size 2s at night so we went to size 3s.

Clothes – Size 3-6 and 6-12.

Feedings – Every 3 or 3.5 hours.

Nighttime – Bed at 7pm (she would go earlier but an earlier bedtime would not allow us to get anything done in the evening). Dream feed at 10ish, I feed her again when she gets up at 6ish and put her back down until 8 or 8:30 whenever she wakes up. I love my sleeping baby.

Personality – She can’t make up her mind wether she loves people or hates them. She loves to smile at people from the safe place of my arm, but once she gets passed over she normally starts screaming pretty quickly.

Development

Loves

Swimming- went swimming the day she turned 5 months (so really this should be in her next post) and she giggled the whole time. It helped that her big sis was there jumping and splashing around and we all know how much Brianna loves Hailey!

Hates

Daycare at the Y, but really that is to be expected since she cries whenever other people hold her.

Okay, well she was 3 months old on the 10th so I’m a bit behind. Things change fast around here so I’ll have to think back and remember if things happened when she was 2 months or 3 months.

Weight – 13lbs 15oz

Length  – 23.5in long

Diapers – Size 2 and also using our cloth diapers when we are at home.

Clothes – Totally out of 0-3 month stuff, now into 3-6 month and some 6-12 month stuff when I get bored of the clothes she has. Going through Hailey’s old clothes is not as fun as I thought, it seems all we have are pink pants, pink pants and more pink pants.

Feedings – Every 3 hours (7:30, 10:30, 1:30, 4:30, 6:30, 8:30 or 9:30) We cluster feed in the evening.

Nighttime – Still feeding either once or twice a night. Brianna is in her own room now, which makes night feedings suck., as I wander through the hallway in the dark and fumble for the touch lamp in Brianna’s room. The touch lamp is the best thing ever by the way, all I have to do is tap it and I have a bit of light.

Personality – Still pretty fussy if we are not at home. At home she will let me lay her on the ground and we play, but if we are out she hates to be down or in anyone’s arms but mine mostly.

Development

12 weeks came and we had a bit of a different baby! She started napping mostly on her own and isn’t crying AS much.

Sisters through the months:

(My cousin Lara asked for a comparason to Hailey’s size at the same age as Brianna. I didn’t take the same type of photo so it’s hard to compare, but here is Hailey’s 3 month photos) (Also Hailey and Brianna are the basically at the exact same weight at month 3 but Hailey was longer)

Our baby girl Brianna is 2 months old! Brianna is becoming more aware of the world, leaving the newborn stage and becoming a cute smiley baby (who also loves to cry and make herself heard). She is certainly good at telling us how she like to be held and how she does not. It’s adorable how much she loves her big sister and how much Hailey loves her back! (And I could just eat them up I love them so much)

 

Weight – 12lbs 14 oz

Length  – 22.75in

Diapers – Size 1, soon to be size 2.

We also want to start using our cloth diapers soon, mom is going to put snaps in because the velcro we used originally on the diapers, did not stick very well.

Clothes – 0-3 (almost outgrown, depends on the brand), 3-6. The onesie she wears for the monthly photos is a 6 month Carters!

Feedings – Every 3 hours (7:30, 10:30, 1:30, 4:30, 6:30, 8:30 or 9:30) We cluster feed at night. We also have one 10min nursing session in the night (on a really good night).

Nighttime – In the past couple days she fights sleep like no other if we try to pt her down, even if she is dead asleep, her eyes will pop open. So bedtime is getting a bit later.  On average we get 5 hours then millions of wake ups after that,.. sometimes as often as every hour. That is not fun.  She has had a couple really good sleeps the past few nights, going 8 hours then another 3 till 7:30ish. I’m thinking this will be the norm now.

Personality – FUSSY. She started crying at 6weeks and didn’t look back. If there is a mild case if colic I’m pretty sure she has it.

Development

She is so great at holding her head up, when we hold her up on our shoulder.

We are working on tummy time, Hailey loves to cheer her on.

When she plays on her play mat she kicks and hits the toys lots, Hailey yells ‘more more!’ when Brianna makes contact (adorable).

Hailey- If Hailey is near her Brianna will be looking at her, it’s so cute. (not so cute when Hailey kicks Brianna in the face, but she also does cute things like stroke her hair and face)

Sucking on our pinky, because she decided she does not like a soother anymore, however we quit cold turkey on the 8th, no more pinky sucking for Brianna because it was too annoying (also a reason for the intense screaming recently)

Hates

Napping, ugh me and my bad napping babies.

Getting put down when she is sleeping, eyes fly open, legs fly up. Boom wide awake, just like that.
