Our Warm and Fuzzy Giveaway Winner

Earlier this month, Leah announced our Warm and Fuzzy Giveaway – a giveaway of a pair of mittens from Edit Shoppe, a shop focusing on “stylish and sustainable clothing”.

The mittens that Edit Shoppe owner Joanne generously gave us are made of a recycled sweater originally sold at The Gap, as commenter Linda correctly guessed, winning her another entry in the giveaway.

There were 22 entries for the giveaway and our randomly chosen winner is…Carolyn! Congratulations Carolyn. We will be in touch to get these mitts out to you and keeping your hands warm as soon as possible.

I love how you can take something old that might go to a landfill and instead recycle it and make something useful out of it. You can also hold on to memories that might be associated with the clothing. These mittens reminded me of a sweater that Micaela had when we were kids – it was made out of the same red and pink striped fabric.

As winter is approaching and my new city of Toronto is getting a more-than-brisk chill in the air, it’s time to keep warm – and Five Blondes and Edit Shoppe want to keep YOU warm too!

Edit Shoppe is an adorable shop based out of Lethbridge, Alberta that focuses on ‘stylish and sustainable clothing’. The store is currently transitioning from a location-based shop to an online shoppe. The owner, Joanne, specializes in making mittens out of recycled material – and not just any mittens. These mittens are too cute for words and also incredibly warm (and popular – they sold out last Christmas season!).

Joanne graciously offered a pair of her ‘Lips’ mittens to a lucky blog reader!

These mittens will keep your digits warm and cozy this winter – or they could make a great Christmas gift for someone you love.

Sock Ons Giveaway!

I’m hosting my first giveaway and I’m so excited for this.

When Hailey was born she was given a pair of Sock Ons. I had no idea what these were at first but soon discovered how handy they were. Socks Ons are little ‘sock jackets’ that you put on over baby’s socks to keep them on. How smart!

Hailey loves to rub her feet together, quickly kicking her socks off, and loves pulling at her socks, but if I have her Sock Ons on she can’t get her socks off. They outsmarted the babies.

Sock Ons are hard to find, they were invented in the UK and are in stores over there, but are harder to find in Canada. Hailey’s pair were bought at a baby store in Toronto, but you can order them online from a bunch of different retailers. I contacted Sock Ons and asked if they would provide a set of Sock Ons to our readers and they agreed!

We have a pair of navy Sock Ons to give away to one lucky baby!

Fiveblondes Giveaway

I’ve been feeling very creative lately, so I went to Michael’s and raided the clearance aisles. I looove headbands, even though they have trouble staying on my head (any pointers on that? haha), and I love to make them. These headbands are made of ribbon and fabric that I sewed on, and are the cutest things everr! Kaylee is wearing hers right now too!
