Baby #2- 21 Weeks Pregnant

Baby #2- 21 weeks PregnantAlmost 21 weeks

21 weeks now and 21 weeks pregnant while camping with Hailey.

How far along?: 21w1d
How big is baby?: Banana 10.5 inches long 12.7oz
Weight gain/loss?: Finding out on Monday.
Maternity clothes?: Wore my normal gap jeans for the last time on Sunday, I couldn’t do them up, had to do the elastic band trick. So I wore some Old Navy ones for a few days but hated that they kept falling down, so I just wore one of my bigger pairs of pants today and that worked.
Food cravings?:  No big cravings this week, just always wanting to eat. At work I start snacking at 8:30… 30 min after I got to work!
Movement?: more and more these days. Still pretty low on the left side.
Belly button?: Looking weirder every day.
What are you looking forward to this week?:Getting our new SUV tomorrow! We tested out a van didn’t like it and decided a 7 seater SUV was the way to go for us. I’ll post on that later. Also looking forward to my doctors appt on Monday and hopefully shopping after since it’s at 12:30 and I’ll take the rest of the day off.

Baby #2- 20 Weeks Pregnant

Half way there!

Photo comparison up first:
week 2020 weeks

(Check out our new paint behind me! Its a dark grey accent wall and I love it so much.)

How far along?: 20w1d
How big is baby?: C antelope (HOLY COW) 6.5 inches long
Weight gain/loss?: no idea since we don’t own a scale and I don’t care that much. Next doctors appt is Feb 28.
Maternity clothes?: Still need to go look for jeans. My normal jeans are not as comfy anymore.
Sleep?: I have not been sleeping that great once 5:30am hits. From the time I fall asleep to then, I sleep in one position, from 5:30 – 6:30 I toss and turn dreading the sound of my alarm clock.
Food cravings?:  Hmmm not sure. Not really into food that much. Loving my nibs that Scott got me for Valentines day, after much hinting.
Movement?: yes, can’t wait until its constant enough so I can make other people feel too!
Belly button?: Looking weirder every day.
What are you looking forward to this week?: Buying our new van! Yup that’s right we are becoming a van family. Going from my little 2 door Cobalt to a nice and big van will be a welcomed change.

I bought an ergo carrier off BabySteals the otherday. It was my first ever purchase off there. I’m pretty excited to get it and try it out. Our stroller does not convert into a double stroller, like many of the snazzy strollers do these days. I’m kicking myself a bit now for not listening to advice to get a double stroller with your first. Right now we are thinking carrying one child and stroller for the other… we’ll see how long we last like that. I have been looking on kijiji as well but nothing has caught my eye yet.

Here’s a little Hailey update as well!

Fave view

Hailey got her 1 year shots and then the lucky girl came down with a case of the measles or something like that. Apparently 5% of kids who get that shot come down with them anywhere from 5-28 days after the shots. She got large red bumps on her back and stomach and a few on her forehead. She was a bit cranker then usual and had really long naps. I think she is finally back to normal and most of her spots are gone.

We are surviving being a mom working/Hailey at daycare family, better then I expected actually. Work feels like I never left and I think I’m fitting right in. Hailey is doing good at daycare, and only cries some days when I leave her there. I like that it’s a home daycare because it feels like she is part of their family, when I drop her off and pick her up the day care providers kids are there and I normally pass Hailey off to the daughter (I think she is in grade 8).

So that’s whats new with us right now. Seems like the fiveblondes are at a loss for words these days. Dear sisters… time to post!

Baby #2- 19 Weeks Pregnant

19 week BUMP!

19 weeks pregnant with Hailey (apparently being brave with the bare belly):
19 Weeks

How far along?: 19w
How big is baby?: Mango, 6 inches long.
Weight gain/loss?: same +4lbs
Maternity clothes?: Still a bit in between pants. Mic gave me some maternity pants but they are too big for my little bump right now. I’m loving the yoga pants. Thinking of going to a maternity store to find jeans on sale.
Sleep?: Waking up randomly in the night, but still sleepy.
Food cravings?: Candy please. Apples still.
Movement?: lots! just from inside so far. The baby likes to kick at things- like the doppler at the doctors and the ultrasound wand on Tuesday.
Belly button?: Looks like its pushing out from the inside.
What are you looking forward to this week?: baby group get together tomorrow!

This week my belly popped right out, it mostly happened over the past few days. All of a sudden it’s hard and more round looking. Grow baby grow!

I was victim to the 24 hour flu on Sunday night/Monday and thought I was dying (not really, just felt like it). Morning sickness had been under control for a couple days and I was doing so well. We stayed here for the superbowl and then I started feeling horrible and that was the end of my 4 day no puking run. I was up all night throwing up, so Monday morning I dropped Hailey off at daycare, went back home to sleep and didn’t even feel guilty about it at all. I had my ultrasound on Tuesday, so after my flu I was worried about the baby since I had not felt many kicks. All my worrying was about nothing though because the baby was really active in there. The tech had trouble getting the baby to be still long enough to get her measurements. She was probably frustrated but I was just excited about it! It’s so weird though because since then I have felt the baby so much more, maybe the Xrays did something to my baby.

Baby #2 – 18 Weeks Pregnant

18 weeks now
IMG_0101a

18W6 days with Hailey.. my baby belly is much bigger then that now/chubby looking!
18 weeks +6 days

How far along?: 18w
How big is baby?: The size of a sweet potato, 5.6 inches long
Weight gain/loss?:  +4 lbs
Maternity clothes?: Didn’t wear any this week, but wore a pair of jeans that were way too tight to work and I was in pain all day.
Sleep?: Tired, just like last week. But I am getting more used to waking up at 6:30am now.
Food cravings?: Apples. And anything that looks good on tv. for example today while watching Man Vs. Food (Scott’s new favourite show) he ate a panzarotti and now I want one. It’s hurting me to write about that because I want one and know I won’t get one. Also the pizza from pizza hut that has little cheese sticks around the end, I want one NOW!
Movement?:Feeling a lot more kicks now. Still just on the inside they are too light to be felt from outside.
Belly button?: still there.
What are you looking forward to this week?: The weekend. Kent’s restaurant opening. My ultrasound!

I had my doctors appointment on Monday. We heard the heartbeat and it was 140 again. They booked an ultrasound for me and it’s on Tuesday, I was not expecting to have it so soon, I’m excited! Hailey had her 12 month appointment at the same time hers was more painful then mine because she got 2 needles. Poor girl.

Other stuff:  The wall is out! It looks so crazy, but I love it, I think. I went to Home Depot and quickly picked out what I think will be out paint colours (with help of course)! Things are coming along.

Baby #2- 17 Weeks Pregnant

Last Thursday we were in Ottawa so no 16 week post happened. I think my belly looks bigger this week, what do you think?
17 weeksa

(I can never decide which format to use regarding the wording on my photos. I know this will bug me later but for now I’m having fun playing around with it)

17 weeks pregnant with Hailey below.

17 weeks!

17 weeks!

Details:

How far along?: 17w
How big is baby?: The size of an onion, 5 inches.
Weight gain/loss?: No idea, I go to the doctors on Monday so I’ll find out then.
Maternity clothes?: Sometimes maternity jeans but they are so baggy on me since I’m a bit smaller then last pregnancy.
Sleep?: I’m EXHAUSTED. I started work Monday, waking up at 6:30 is something I am not used to these days. I get 30 min to myself, then wake up Hailey, spend 30 min getting her dressed and feeding her, then we run out the door to daycare/work. I’m excited for Monday when my mother in law comes here to be Hailey’s babysitter for the week so I think it will be a bit more relaxed.
Food cravings?: Fruit and veggies, I’m so healthy. NOT chips, yuck. Pizza as usual, pretty sure I can’t call  it a craving anymore since it’s so constant.
Movement?: Feeling little pops every now and then.
Belly button?: Starting to look on the inside like it did at the end, stretched out. But it’s still a very deep innie.
What are you looking forward to this week?: Sunday after Hailey’s birthday party is over.

Scott thinks this pregnancy seems less real then with Hailey, since we have only had one doctors appointment and got to hear the heartbeat then. I sort of agree, but I’m loving that I hardly have to go to the doctors. The appointments in: the beginning seem so pointless. Can’t really check growth of baby cause there’s no bump and I don’t have any major issues  Last time we started going to the OB at a bit after 20 weeks, I think, I’m also hoping to hold off a bit on that this time since the hospital is farther away now, since we go to a different hospital now.

I’ve been having this not fun leg pain that I had with Hailey near the end of my pregnancy. It’s a really bad pain all up my left leg. I had it in the lab today at work and did not enjoy it, it makes walking hurt a lot. I hope it does not stick around because I still need to be really active this Spring for planting.

Baby #2- 15 Weeks

It feels great to be 15 weeks already.  Okay well I guess I should say, I am happy to be 15 weeks but really am not feeling great.

Same old, same old, puking every morning.  I think diclectin tricks me, when I first took it I got a 2 day puking break! Great I though, I am cured. Well I spoke too soon and the next thing I knew I was puking again, as usual, so I decided it wasn’t doing anything for me and stopped taking the meds. Then I had a couple mornings where it almost killed me to get out of bed and rescue Hailey from her crib (okay well from Scott who has been helping me most mornings these days) because I felt so nauseous and could hardly sleep at night. So I started taking the meds again and had 2 wonderful puke free days and since then puke as usual. Maybe I should be going 2 days on 2 days off? I feel like it doesn’t even make any sense why that would happen.

I’m not doing the normal update this week because nothing has changed, well other then belly growth (see below, holy cow).  My next doctors appointment isn’t until Jan 31, which is also Hailey’s 12 month appointment! I’m only seen my doctor once so far this time around. I feel lax about it, but I think it’s because it’s my second time around.

I’ve thought a bit about what to do with the room situation and I think we will move Hailey to her own new room once this baby is old enough to be in the crib and not bassinet in our room (when she starts sleeping through the night, with Hailey this began at about 6 weeks and quickly progressed to every night, but she slept in our room until she was about 5 months old).  So I get to decorate a whole new room and we need to think about toddler bed vs twin bed. I’ll blog more about this later on.

I’m stuck in a rut with food cravings. I adore pizza. I’ve always been a pizza lover, now I just have a wonderful excuse to eat it all the time. As in I have had it for the last 3 days. Tuesday while visiting a friend and her adorable little baby Hannah, Wednesday at pizza hut buffet with friends, sister Mic & cute Casey and Thursday for dinner with my adorable little family. I’ve also been craving drinks, as in water and lots of it. Probably a good thing to crave since I know I am not drinking enough.

Okay enough rambling here’s the photo you have been waiting for, the shadow bugs me but there’s not much we can do about it, there is not much light in our living room at night. Check out the little (teeny) pop. It’s crazy to think I’ll look like this in about 24 weeks.

Baby #2 - 15 weeks pregnant

Baby #2 – 14 Weeks Pregnant

I decided I’m going to use the same format my pregnancy posts as my cousin Lara, since I didn’t use a format last time and never knew where to start.

How am I feeling? Gross in the mornings, but fine after I get the puke out of my system. Not as hungry as I was in the beginning of this pregnancy.  Tired, but not sleeping very well at night.

Weight gain? Up about 3 lbs I think.  I have one pair of normal jeans that are comfortable, I have ventured a bit into maternity jeans because they are comfy, but I live in sweatpants at home.

Cravings? Licorice (nibs), fruit, drinks- juice, water, chocolate milk.

What’s on my mind? Not pregnancy related- but going back to work soon (the 24th) and trying to decide where to go on vacation before we go back (ie leaving on the 18th and we still have not booked anything) and getting Hailey in to see her daycare provider so she does not hate me when I leave her there.

14

No big pop yet with my belly. I notice it alot, but other people say I am not showing at all. With Hailey I popped around 20ish weeks, it will most likely be earlier this time since I’m for sure bigger this time then I was at 14 weeks with Hailey. I’ll answer the questions people had in future posts, I’m feeling lazy and just wanted to get this up and posted quick and on time.

Pregnancy #2

Scott and I found out I was pregnant in early November, the same day my cousin told my sisters and I that she was pregnant. Two weeks later my friend, (also Scott’s cousin) told us she was pregnant. To say there is a baby boom happening would be an understatement. I know of about 6 people due in April, and a couple a month going all the way to August. 2011 is going to be a fun year, that’s for sure.

I’m due July 7, on Thursday I will be 14 weeks pregnant, already done the first trimester! This pregnancy is going so fast, I know July will be here before I know it.

So far I have been feeling the same as when I was pregnant with Hailey. Really gross in the mornings and normally puke at least once a morning. I am taking meds this time, but it’s not helping much. I find I feel a bit better now that I’m taking them, I don’t wake up and moan in pain not wanting to move, I just get up and know eventually I will be running to the sink to puke up nothing. Same as last pregnancy, I think it’s because I go so long without food and am just too hungry in the mornings to find anything appetizing. Lately I find munching on Honey Nut Cheerios wards off the puking (well sometimes that is).

When I was pregnant with Hailey, the whole time I thought I was pregnant with a boy (well until my friend Laura had a boy, 3 weeks before Hailey was born, then I thought girl a bit more). This time around, because I feel the same as I did with Hailey, so I’m leaning towards girl.

Pretty much you can read my first pregnancy post from when I was pregnant with Hailey and everything would be basically the same. Not feeling good, don’t like food, but I’m constantly hungry. I have more food aversions then I do cravings, although today I decided I needed red licorice. And as usual pizza is always a winner in my books!

We announced to our parents that we were pregnant a few weeks after we found out. Both times we used the cute Big Sister shirt that I made for Hailey and surprised them. Both were very surprised, my mom the most it seemed, which is weird because I never made it a secret that I want my kids close in age, and 18 months seems pretty perfect spacing for the first two, to me. I told my sisters the morning of Mic’s shower, just to add a bit more excitement to the day :)   When we went to visit Casey last week I was even more excited to be pregnant knowing that I will have a cute little baby again in about 7 short months.

I’m looking forward to blogging about this pregnancy, and hope that you come back to read about it.

Have any questions that I missed answering?

More Exciting News

I guess it’s time to share a secret that I’ve been holding in for almost 2 months now…

With the birth of one baby we start the growth of another. We never stop with the excitement around here!

Paaaacking: A necessary evil.

While packing up my whole apartment and moving for the second time in a year and a half, I’m too often forced to ask myself the million dollar question, “Have we even used/worn/touched this since the last time we moved?” If the answer is no, the obvious thing to do would be to throw it away or donate it. So why is this so hard sometimes? I am by no means a hoarder, I love getting rid of stuff. But when it’s something that I paid a lot for at one time and haven’t gotten much use out of, or something that I wish I used/wore more or want to use/wear more in the future, it can be sooo difficult to get rid of it.

Does Kent need five baseball hats when I’ve never even seen him wear one? Probably not. Do we need three huge jars of Tums when neither of take Tums… ever? Probably not. Little jars of hotel shampoo? Allll those clothes that I never wear? Wart remover that expired in 1998 (my friend Jen noticed the expiry date and laughed at us.)? All of these things are taking up unnecessary space in our lives. We have a closet of shoes, jackets, and other random things that has been sooo chock-full for so long, and once I went through it I ended up donating half of the jackets and shoes, thinking how crazy it was that I didn’t do that a long time ago and enjoyed a clutter-free closet. Living in a one bedroom apartment we probably don’t have as much stuff that we don’t use as most people because we don’t have room for it. But still it feels like we have sooo much stuff. I’m kind of nervous for this big empty basement in our new place because I don’t want it to become somewhere that we throw all our junk.

Another thing I’ve learned from this moving process? Well they say a true friend is one that will help you move and that is definitely true, but I think there is no better friend (or sister) than the one that offers to help you pack. You have to be pretty close with someone to be willing to pack their husband’s underwear drawer (JUST KIDDING, I didn’t make anyone do that.) Leah came over on Tuesday evening and helped me pack my whole kitchen, and Jen came over tonight and helped pack my bedroom and bathroom and I’m so grateful to both of them since Kent has been too busy to do any of it. Jen was so good at it I told her she should start a business helping people pack. She’s really good company and she has no problems deciding for herself what to put where. Half the time she’d be in another room than the one I was in, just packing away.

In thanks, Jen, you get your picture on the blog! Be proud (or don’t…)

And I can’t forget to mention my little bambino, who is growing like a weed!
