A Very Important Birthday

Wow, doesn’t it seem like there is always a birthday happening at the FiveBlondes? It works out for us, as we sisters love to celebrate.

Today is an extra-important birthday – it is her last single birthday, her first foray into her LATE 20′s, and she was the first of the infamous five blonde farm girls. She was the one who started the often asked and ever-hated question … “Which one are you again?”

Without this girl, our blog would be a puddle of words, swept into a closet in a farm house only to be forgotten about.

So Eri Scari – HAPPY BIRTHDAY FROM YOUR SISTERS! This year will be such an exciting one for you, and for all of us. And Thank you for bringing this site to life and us so much closer together. And as the Dutch would say, Congratulations to your parents. Happy 26th!

You're HOW old???

July 31st marks the middle of summer (unofficially), Harry’s Potter’s birthday, and Katelyn’s birthday!  Tonight after Yoga we’ll be celebrating her day with some friends (I just checked the facebook event – a LOT of friends!) and margaritas at a local Mexican restaurant.  Yum!

Here’s our Kate with her hubby (and our favorite brother-in-law), Scott.  They are so photogenic it makes me crazy! I wonder what he is getting her…probably something golf-related, or maybe a trip to a spa…tell us what you got, Kate!

Five Blondes.com is celebrating by getting a flickr Pro account so she (and we) can show off more of her photography.

Happy Birthday to the middle Blonde! We love you Kate!

Dirty Dancing

The Ontario Blondes had a great weekend!

Since it was Lauren’s 19th Birthday we planned a sister outing to the bars in London. We wanted to hit up 19 bars for her 19th birthday but realized it was a bit unreasonable since we didn’t start the bar hopping until 10:30pm. We ended up going to 4 bars and one diner to get some greasy food and milkshakes!

SUPER LONG WEEKEND POST AHEAD!!

Indefinite is a really long time.

On Sunday, Leah described the length of time she will be moving to Calgary for as “indefinite”.

I’m not fond of the word “indefinite”.

Today we begin to measure the distance between us in provinces, rather than cities. We’ll have to arrange flights to get together, not car pools, and they’ll need to be arranged weeks – if not months – in advance.

In short, it sucks.

The last picture of all of us together for quite some time. An indefinite amount of time, you might say. OK, not really, because she’ll be back for my wedding.

You can see us and our boys at Couturesmith – you can even see my boy, D! I’ve promised him that I won’t post pictures of him on the blog (which is unfortunate because we would get a ton of visitors just staring at pics of him and admiring his hotness) but he never told Mom that she couldn’t…

At least we have great blog posts to look forward to, RIGHT LEAH???!

Frustrating

Time out for a rant:

Know what is frustrating?

When you have a job that is rarely busy, and realtors never ask for help. You just sit at your desk all day, in your office all alone, making work for yourself. Then a realtor calls and asks if you will be working on the day before Christmas and you say you are not sure yet (gosh darn it, it’s the day before Christmas, do people really need to buy a farm on the day before Christmas?) and they say “okay, well I’ll be working” and you ask, will you need me to do anything? and he says “I don’t know if I will need your help,” but seems frustrated that you are not working, because what if he needs me to do some minuscule task?! What the heck is up with that? Would it make him feel better just to know that I was sitting in the office, miserable to be working on Christmas eve and bored out of my mind?

End rant out loud, continue rant in my head.

25 days until Christmas!

We are married!

Saturday was a wonderful day! The rain/winds did not put a damper on our spirits and everyone had a great time! The dance floor was PACKED all night, it was perfect.

Here are some teaser pictures (stolen from my mom’s blog), taken by Lauren.

Check back Monday for updates!

Bachelorette Fun.

Thursday night was my bachelorette party. First we went to the maid of honors house and had a little pre-party there- drinks, games and food! They decided to make it a “stock Kate’s bar” shower, so I got some alcohol there and shot glasses! Ashley (my future sister-in-law) made very cute shirts. The back of the bridesmaid shirts read “Shes our little whiskey girl and shes getting hitched!” Plus a picture of (drunk) Scott and me.

Later in the night we headed to the Ranch, a country bar in Guelph. I was at the Ranch many nights during my 4 year undergrad so it was great to be back, even though it was not as packed as it normally is. At the ranch we drank, danced, took lots of pictures and made friends with the band! All night they would call my name out and say random comments about us. The owner gave everyone with the bachelorette party shots of tequila rose, which I love. We’ll just say the next morning was a bit rough..

Here are some pictures of the madness that occured that night.

Putting on my pink garter for the night.
