Which girl, in this day and age, doesn’t own at least one fabulous scarf? I love scarves, especially ones that are cute and colourful and add a ‘punch’ to an otherwise boring outfit. In Calgary’s cold and often unpredictable climate, scarves are especially necessary.
This particular scarf I cannot live without, and have gotten tons of compliments on, from the most unexpected people.

Can you believe that it’s from Smart Set, and was under $20? (Is Smart Set a Canadian thing? Do you Americans have Smart Set in your malls?)
It’s a gorgeous scarf, and unlike other inexpensive scarves, it’s not a flimsy or cheap-looking one. It’s full and thick and luxurious and the colours on it are uh-mazing.

I can’t even believe that I am using my crappy Blackberry camera to take pictures for the blog. My camera is kaput and also in Ontario. Luckily, my birthday is coming up and I have made a special request to a certain someone (cough Mr. Leah) that a camera is something I neeeeed in my life.

I love love love this scarf! The colours are amazing especially with winter around the corner- everything seems so blah and a scarf like that will dress anything up!
I actually got one similar last year for La Chateau at the end of Winter (clearance steal!) but it isn’t as heavy or thick as that one looks! What a great price too
Thanks for the comment Christina! Le Chateau does have a lot of great scarves, and who doesn’t love a good clearance sale!
Great Scarf! All my scarfs are those Flimsy ones you mentioned. Maybe it’s time I embraced a warm fashionable scarf. It might make my ugly knee length Calgary winter coat more attractive.
And are you in your kitchen? It looks like a lovely kitchen and I am a little jealous of your dark wood cabinets!
I’m enjoying the “cannot live without” posts!
.-= Rachel´s last blog ..It WILL be worth it in the end…..right? =-.
I am so with you on the ugly knee length winter coat … yuck. I definitely think it’s time to embrace a pretty scarf
And yes, that is in my kitchen – Mr. Leah and I rent a gorgeous condo, and we said yes to it mainly because of it’s amazing kitchen. Soon enough you can do whatever the heck you want to your new kitchen
I LOVE that scarf! (And no, we dont have Smart Set, at least we dont in the OH-PA-WV retail establishments I frequent.) I have numerous brightly colored scarves and cannot live without them. They make outfits look dressier, provide some brightness to the blacks and grays I tend to wear and go with dressy outfits or jeans. They are the perfect accessory.

Thanks fr answering the Smart Set query! It’s kind of too bad for you, if you are in Canada soon I would recommend checking it out! Lot’s of cute clothes, especially for work. Glad to hear you are a scarf-lover too.
This blog is too cute! How did I just find it? I am behind the times, I say! Anyway I have 4 sisters too! Mostly blonde, with 2 brunettes tossed in there.
PS: Cute scarf!
Speaking of cute blogs, thanks for leaving the link for yours! I will definitely keep myself updated on it. Yay for sisters, haha. I assume you often got the “oh, your poor father” comment too.
Oh my freaking lord I am obsessed with scarves. I actually got a huge discount on one scarf (online) at Abercrombie. It was originally $120 (what a garbage price hey?) and it was on sale for $29 – it’s made of silk + other stuff that I don’t really know about, but I always get compliments on it because it’s SUCH a nice shade of forest/olive green, and so soft. I also ordered a new scarf on etsy (here’s the link to the one I bought: http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=21005295) and I haven’t reiceved it yet, but don’t order until she has free shipping! They’re also CUSTOM MADE. Ridic, right? I can’t wait to see it, lol.
Nancy, this comment was one of the best ones ever! Haha. I will most definitely check out that Etsy site, and I don’t get anyone who will pay $120 for a scarf … even if it is made from silk and some other stuff you don’t reall know about. But $29? Good steal!
I am not normally a big scarf person but I do love that one!!! So pretty!!

I tried on so many scarves today thanks to this post Leah, because I don’t have a fabulous scarf. Didn’t get one yet though.

That is one gorgeous scarf!! I never would have thought to buy that for myself but it suits you to a T! And I totally know what’s its like to love something so much that you need to blog about it!!!! Love you Leah!

I know what you mean about scarves. Recently I bought three beauitful scarves and was planning on giving one to my mom and one to my sister, for their birthdays, and keeping the third for myself. Well, I couldn’t decide which one I wanted and ended up keeping all three of them. Oh well!
Allison, you’re hilarious!! That is the problem with getting gifts you love for people. It’s hard to actually give them away. But now you have three beautiful scarves and they are none the wiser.
I’ve become scarf girl, too! Believe it or not, my favourite one I found at Mark’s Work Warehouse.
Yes, you read that correctly. Mark’s Work Warehouse.
I don’t often admit this to people … but I, too, love shopping at Mark’s Work Warehouse. I would never think to look at scarves there, but they have cute work pants. I will keep my eyes open next time I am there.
H&M’s got sweet scarves.
H&M is too difficult to shop at.
Leah!
Hello from a CCH Five Blondes follower!
I echo the sentiments of a poster before me– I’m not a huge scarf person, but I could 100% make an exception for this one: I love it! The colours are BEAUTIFUL! And $20 from Smart Set? You always had a bargain eye.
Hope that you and your scarf continue to take life in Calgary by ‘storm’.
Erin, how lovely! Glad to see you here and ‘de-lurking’. Go for it! Thanks for remembering my bargain eye – I do consider it one of my true talents, haha. I hope you are well!
