All my life I have dreamed of the day when I would have my forever home. Thought about the details, how I might decorated it and what it would look like. For the past 2 and a half years Scott and I rented a home and every day I would just know that we were one day closer to someday owning our forever home.
When we first got married we purchased our first piece of property. A 68 acre piece of land with an 800 head finishing barn. No House.
Then we started renting another pig barn, a 2000 head finishing barn with more land.
Pigs and land take time and money, so with each purchase we were farther (in my mind at least) from owning our home.
In December my grandparents talked about selling their farm. A beautiful house, workshop and 72 acres. Scott started dreaming and talking about buying the farm. I figured there was no way we would be able to afford it. In February we went to talk to them about and they thought it was a wonderful idea and would hold off on putting it up for sale. Scott worked numbers and the next thing we knew plans were made, the loan was granted and we had bought another farm. WITH A HOUSE!
We move this weekend. As in 4 days from now. And I just stared packing. Someone hold me please.
So you want photos? Well you are no stranger to this house, Micaela & Kent’s wedding was held at this beautiful piece of property.
Last week my computer crashed (hard drive fried), and along with it went all my photos, so I don’t have the photos I had of it last week so I’ll just have to take some new ones when we move to show it off.
Right now I’m surrounded in boxes and am very thankful that Hailey is so sleepy today so I can get a good start on packing everything up.

What great news! Amazing how that worked out for you <3
800 head finishing barn = a barn capable of holding 800 pigs just before they ship off to butcher/market.

Because Leah challenged someone to post and comment what an 800 head finishing barn is. I don’t have pig experience, but on a beef farm a finishing barn is where animals are fattened up before going to market. 800 head is the capacity of animals that the barn can hold.
Where is my high five Leah? :-p

I can’t wait to see what you do with it Kate! It’s a perfect place for Hails to grow up. And for my kids to grow up. I’m glad you live in a house big enough that if I suddenly get a job in London and have to move quickly, we have somewhere to live!
Miss ya! Saturday was kind of a whirlwind. I think the two times I’ve seen you before that – Easter, baptism, were also whirlwinds in fact. I need a nice day-long date with you and Hailey in your new place.
Mom and I voted YES to you fixing up the pond when Hailey is older so our kids can go swimming in it!
I’ll help, as long as my kids can come over anytime they want!
I’m so happy and so proud of you for buying the house, it’s such an exciting time.
