The secret behind his smile.

Tim hates getting his picture taken. But lately, I have found the secret behind his adorable smile that lights up his eyes – I just have to say “But Tim, I want to put this one on the blog” and all of a sudden he perks right up and would pose in any crazy way that I want him to. The funny thing is he has never even seen the blog. One day he was talking about it with his best friend and telling him all about it and his friend asked him the web address – he doesn’t even know it!

Before my posing discovery:

Not so cute.

After my posing discovery:

Look at that attention, eye contact (rare in Tim photos), even the little, mischevious smile. Seriously – all I had to say was “Babe, I want to put this one in the blog.” At the time, I had zero intention of blogging that particular photo but he has inspired me. From now on, you ain’t gonna hear no “Say Cheese” from this girl! Do expect a little more “Blogging this one!” before I snap that shot.

Do your boyfriends/girlfriends/friends read your blogs, or would they if you had a blog? What is the secret behind your partners smile (I need all the help I can get, I have a feeling this trick won’t last long)?

Oh my gosh, that is awesome. Tim, love you even more now! Except you might want to learn our url.
XMan runs the other way if I mention blogging a pic. I don’t know his ’secret’, though kittens and babies have been making him smile these days!

That is TOO funny!

The ‘blogging this!’ thing seems to work for me (for now) too. It’s funny, I think they know they’ll be looked at by all our bloggy girlfriends, and want to make a good impression, haha.

LOL. That little, mischievous smile is definitely working for him. Sexy. So much better than the ballpark scowl. :)

With my husband, when I tell him I’m going to blog a photo of him, he starts talking about signed releases. He’s so not into the blogging thing. But he does know my URL and I do make him read it (I signed him up for my email feed.)

My boyfriend reads my blog, but it seems like he only reads to catch me out on any lies he thinks I may be telling. LOL In all seriousness, it’s not that bad. BUT, he doesn’t like me blogging about him at all :(

So funny! I love all of your comments.

@haleyhughes: He loves it when I talk about him! I would have never expected him to, he’s pretty private and likes his life under his own control (if that makes any sense?) and has never stated privacy issues. I often find myself asking him – Are you sure sure I can talk about you? I promise I don’t ever use your last name. He doesn’t give a crap! I would never let him around XMan while blog talk is happening, that could turn out bad. X Man would put bad thoughts into his head and give him ideas (Not that Erica’s boy is manipulative, but I honestly just don’t think that Tim has thought about it in that way and that is why he is so okay with it)

@Mrs.Priss – He DOES like it when people talk about how cute he is! I just can’t resist it. I lauged when you wrote “bloggy girlfriends” because it is so true. But boys read our blog too!

@fragileheart – I pray to God that he doesn’t read it, especially on certain days when I wouldn’t want him to read some of the stuff I wrote. But I never have to worry about that! Tim is ocnvinced that someday we are going to be famous and I thinks thats when he MIGHT start reading it. But that would mean he would have to take his eyes off of his textbooks for a split second.

I don’t think matty boy would ever read my blog. I told him he could use my facebook password to check out his friend’s walls, etc. But he’s terrified to enter into an alternate world where he can read what i’ve written.

Plus, I’ve tried to re-start a blog SO many times now to keep people up to date in my life here, but either forget my password or get sad that i’m not a single www. and that i have to have something like blogspot or wordpress in my url

I am totally going to use this. Heehee. I love that someone else has the same problem with their guys! It is like pulling teeth to get a regular non-goofy smile from my hubby.

I’m still amazed that he was such a peach during our wedding and smiled for EVERY photo. I’m thankful for that, at least. :)

ha ha, too funny. My hubby reads my blog and sometimes assists me in post topics. He secretly loves to be blogged about but would never admit that to me:)

Kent’s actually very good with getting his picture taken. I find that the more I smile at him while taking his picture the more it will make him smile back. So I try and smile and wait a few seconds and then take the picture. I’ve never tried the blog idea but now I am interested to see how it will work!
He doesn’t read our blog unless Ddawg tells him I’ve written about him. :)

ok erica, it’s a deal! message me personally on FB or something and we’ll get this deal done!

My boyfriend was the designer for my blog’s template, so he kinda got roped into reading it. He is signed up for the feed, but I think he just reads the title and clicks out.

To get him to smile is easy. I take two photos, one when he is scowling, and the second immediately after when I tell him he took a bad picture. That always makes him smile.

@ Mic – That is like what you do to babies when you are taking their picture! Hmm, very telling …

@Amanda – you BF made your template!?!? CAN I BORROW HIM FOR A DAY OR TWO?! That is so awesome.

15 Why Mom Drinks Rum 08.28.08 at 9:16 am

Hubby decided for the sake of harmony in our marriage that he won’t read the blog.

I think he secretly does though – sometimes he pops out with comments on things that I KNOW I’ve only told the unknown internet world about, and not him.

He does tend to make the comment more frequently, “You’re going to blog this aren’t you?”….in a sad frightened kind of way.

Because of his work I can’t really show his face on the blog…but if you’ve ever seen that episode of friends where Chandler can’t smile right – that would be my guy.

Opps, and no my husband doesn’t read my blog. He knows it’s out there and he poses when I ask him to though.
