On Saturday D and I we were out running some errands and somehow ended up at Starbucks. Again. I ordered my usual “tall no-whip mocha”, and he his usual “nothing”.
$3.47 and a few minutes later, the very cute barista handed me my coffee. Just before I fasten the lid on the cup, I notice a deviation from the norm: Said cute barista has put extra specialness into my drink, adorning it with a lovely star and drizzled it with chocolate syrup!

I have to learn how to do that.
On a side note, if you have been having trouble accessing Five Blondes over the past few days, it’s because of a post of ours that went StumbleUpon crazy. Viral? Not sure of the official term for it. Anyway, 40,000 unique vistors later (yesIsaidyooooooooneek!), the traffic is starting to slow down from Saturday’s peak of 10,130. Look for my followup post later this week that will pay homage to the stumbler and Entrecarder who started it all…and also some interesting observations that I’ve had while using Spottt throughout that week (talk about timing!)…

@Kate - People will be mean no matter what. I get it all the time too. It’s just a matter of percentages - the more people read your blog, the higher percentage of jerks. Keep your skin thick and remember that most of them are probably just jealous.
I’d like to learn how to do that too. Probably a site online about it, a group on Flickr with photos too I’d bet.
