I kind of feel weird voting in Calgary, but I am doing it for all of the women who fought so hard for me to be able to have the choice.

Today one of the girls I work with said (in response to my excited “Don’t forget to vote!”) that she’s not “into politics” like it was basketball, or knitting. I was so annoyed…I asked her if she’d start voting when she had kids or maybe more of a reason to vote? She said (dumbly) “Maybe!”

    Ugh.

I just walked with my husband on this glorious fall day to the local firehall and made my informed decision! Thanks for the vote post girls!

Not “into” politics? I didn’t think that was possible…it’s the government! They run the country (for better or for worse)!

Mr X and I took a nice walk to the polling station and voted this eve. Big change from last month when he declared that he wasn’t going to vote. I’m proud of him <3

I just got back!!! I felt SOOOOO good. There are lots of young, dedicated voters in Calgary Centre. I even ran into a friend from Guelph! It was like a reward for voting.

I’ll be honest with you - I did not vote. BUT!!!! I really did try. Between my classes in my break I found the school newspaper, the voting issue and I found out where to vote on campus, went there with all my id and proof of address, it was in a residence and found NOTHING to do with voting there. There was even a big room that people could have rocked the vote in, but it was totally empty.
Then.. I had to go back to my classes. No one I talked to knew anything about where to vote.

I am disappointed in my school for not making it easier for students to vote. I didn’t see any signs on campus at all about it whatsoever. There were many signs about the student union election which was also today.

Now I am really sad that I didn’t get to vote and now I have to be a statistic. In the 2000 election only 25% of electors voted. Luckily I was one of them. Next time I am going to send my voting card in early. Kent did vote though.. so we are not a total failure.

I’m sad to say my 20 year old brother (soon to be 21!!!) did not want to come and vote. He’s being such an idiot but I’m tired of fighting so my parents and I let him be. He’ll regret it later and he’ll probably blame us but he’s not a child anymore… if only he’d start acting less like one.

I sadly did not vote today, but i was unable to leave the house, my 2 year old is teething ( his two year molars ) and wouldn’t let go of me ( even long enough to go to the bathroom, he had to come with me ) i couldnt even get dressed today.. so i figured that my son came above anything else, and to add to it all my 3 month old is teething too..
but it wasn’t a total waste, my husband voted on his way home from classes today just in time as they were about to close the polls when he got there.

I voted!! If you think your party does not have a chance your right because so many did not vote this year. Please make a better choice for the future of our children as there voice can not be heard but it will be when they incur our debt!!
