That is such a sweet story! My bf and I spent our first summer together apart too...and we're still apart. Long distance, even if we're only separated by a 2 hour train ride and not a full day's drive (I don't know how you did it!) is the worst! I can't wait until he and I are finally under 1 roof! I too spent the first summer of my relationship away from my boyfriend. We were young and it was terrible. He was in Calli and I was in Illinois, it was a summer of phone tag, fighting, missing, crying, and....LOVE LETTERS! We kept a notebook in which we sent back and forth to eachother. Imagine a whole notebook/journal of love letters! I saw P.S. I love you recently with the boyfriend and your story reminds me of that movie - not that its exactly what you've said here but it just does (I won't say any more in case someone reading this comment hasn't seen the movie yet). Its so sweet that he wrote you so often. I wish that the bf and I would do that but with email at our disposal we've gotten lazy I suppose.
