The boyfriend just came back to the city after a two week party well-deserved vacation in the homeland (where the good boy visited my sisters and hung out with my brother-in-law). Last night we were coming home from the pub out for a lovely evening stroll and I asked him about every detail of his trip home when he told me the cutest thing. His brother’s girlfriend asked him if I was the one and he had responded with yes, she is. My heart skipped a beat and I managed to find many different ways to get him to tell me that story over again without sounding too crazy.
Now this doesn’t mean there has been a ring in discussion at all, but I’ll refer to a tweet I posted last week talking about not wanting to be engaged or to be married right now but just wanting to be wanted. This conversation satisfied that wish. And to hear the person you love more than you ever thought you were capable of loving another human being ever so nonchalantly tell you that you are the one? Amazing.
As I laid in bed last night beside him my mind kept coming back to a poem I had found when we were first falling in love.

Yesterday Kent said something about the idea that not wanting to be with anyone else is the reason why someone gets married, so I said something like, “oh so you mean that I’m the love of your life and you could never dream about loving anyone else?” He said yes.
Except you don’t really get the whole “heart skipping a beat” feeling when you fed him the information yourself.
I think I found that poem and sent it to you – it reminds me of a time when we lived in Vancouver and Kent met me for lunch and I went back to work and someone asked me if it was raining and I had NO idea and I felt silly, so I just said something like “sort of… a little bit” to cover a few of my bases.

Lucky for me have a blog that I can use to show the world that we are in love! I want to be married someday, not any time soon though, I have a pretty chilled out life and I’d like to keep it that way. No wedding planning stress for this girl! (Except for the wedding I am a MOH for)
