1. I have always loved those glass cake holders that are on a pedestal with a glass lid.
2. I love writing and buying journals to write in. When I get a new one that I love it’s hard for me not to abandon my previous one. Sometimes I compromise and just alternate.
3. I never watch scripted TV but I love reality TV.
4. I don’t really like watching movies. I’ll always choose something more social if I have the choice.
5. I love wearing dresses as much as I can in the summer.
6. I’m a foodie and I love eating so I am very thankful for my top notch metabolism. When I was little I loved eating so much but I was very skinny. Erica asked my dad where all of the food goes and he told her I had a hollow leg.
7. My favourite drink is champagne. I don’t think it’s just for celebrations. I drink it most weekends.
8. I want to be really good at guitar but I hate the process of getting there.
9. I’ve always thought I should be Swedish or Norwegian.
10. I block things out really well. Sometimes after a class someone will say, “didn’t you hear the person behind us that could not stop coughing for the whole class?” and I never hear it.
11. That being said, I absolutely hate when people talk during class – as in have an entire discussion with their neighbour. I think it is so rude, especially considering we are in teachers college.
12. I love spelling.
13. I’m a very jittery person. I’m never not moving some part of me.A prof yesterday said this was a sign of a kinesthetic learner, but I don’t think I’m a kinesthetic learner.
14. One summer Leah and I slept out on our trampoline every night.
15. I can’t understand why so many people can’t say the name Lara. It’s my cousin’s name and when we are going somewhere where she will be, Kent has to practice saying her name in the car. He’s not very good at it.
16. I really like the idea of wearing robes, so I’m trying to start wearing my robes more often.
17. What I love most about being in a relationship is being able to make another person really, really happy.
18. Tim Horton’s coffee puts me in a ridiculously happy mood.
19. I got the computer game The Sims last weekend. We used to play the original version as kids and loved it.
20. When making our Sim families last weekend, Kent and I both named our couples after us, with Kent’s last name.
21. We are really cheesy.
22. I’m a blood donor.
23. I’m not good at most sports because I’m not competitive and I never care if I win or not.
24. I’m also not very co-ordinated.
25. I’m also not a fan of any sports teams because I never care if other teams win or not either. But if I had to choose it would always be the local teams.
26. I wholeheartedly care about who wins on shows like The Bachelor or America’s Next Top Model, so I can kind of understand liking a particular sports team. But not really.
27. I’ve never read The Secret, but I fully believe in the power of positive thinking.
28. I spent a semester of university studying at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.
29. While I was in SA, I also travelled to Lesotho, Swaziland, and Mozambique.
30. My favourite concert was Elton John – Kent surprised me with tickets and we sat in the third row.
31. Kent told the jewellers when he bought my engagement ring that I had small fingers, but the ring was too big even for my middle finger. I got it sized one size smaller and it’s still too big for my ring finger.
32. That is very annoying because I’m constantly worrying that I’m going to lose it.
33. My roommate Jen and I could have smoothies (made in our blender with frozen fruit and apple juice) and popcorn (made in our air popper) every day of the week, and we usually do.
34. When we were teenagers, my friend Michelle P and I took it upon ourselves to become friends with every bartender and bouncer at our favourite bar (which was really big).
35. It worked really well for us, we’d go there about twice a weekend and never had to wait in line, and we’d even go there on Monday nights for wings night.
36. I’m a big John Mayer fan. I know the words to all of his songs and have been to two concerts.
37. In grade six I was a “People of Peace.” I wore a big, bright red jacket at recess and students would come up to me and tell me their conflicts, and I’d help resolve them.
38. Im studying to be a teacher and eventually I want to be a guidance counsellor at a high school.
39. I once read an entire novel in one sitting at Chapters.
40. I just switched purses after two years of using the same (beloved) purse every day.
41. The strap on the new one broke on the first day I got it.
42. When talking to each other, Kent and I use a lot of words that we have totally made up. Ex. huggy=hug
43. I write notes in class with a Tinkerbell pen.
44. I’ve always wanted to be a surfer.
45. I’ve been surfing once (in South Africa) and it was completely terrifying.
46. After working at a credit union for a year, I love savings account, RRSPs, GICs, mutual funds, and all that good stuff.
47. It blew my mind to see that so many people lived paycheck to paycheck (or worse) and that so many blew all of their money at the casino.
48. I lived in Vancouver for six months. I hated the rain, but loved, loved, loved living near the ocean and running along the seawall.
49. I have two definite names picked out – one for a son and one for a daughter.
50. I’m a night person but I wish I was more of a morning person.
51. I have religion class tonight from 8:00-8:50 and I’m really not looking forward to the freezing cold walk there.
52. My student house is freezing all the time, and I recently bought an electric blanket which makes me very happy. My roommate borrows it when I go home for weekends.
53. It also makes me take way too many naps.
54. I loooooooove apple juice.
55. I also love when people say that something I say/do/have is “very Micaela.”
56. It makes me feel closer to someone when they call me Mic or Mickey.
57. Kent has never called me either one. He has his own list of nicknames that he calls me, some very weird (Falumi and Faloo… and many more) and some of which I love (Cools, which is short for Micoola).
58. I hate grocery shopping.
59. Today I was trying to get out of the parking lot at a farmers market, and an old man stole a woman’s parking spot that she had been waiting for. She got out of the car and yelled at her (he didn’t care.) After he had gone inside and she found a spot, she found a shopping cart and parked it right behind his car. SO funny.
60. There is one particular song that I have always sung while snowboarding.
61. I can’t tell you what it is because it’s embarassing.
62. My cat’s name is Dragon Baby and he is the most affectionate life form there is.
63. My favourite colour to wear is white.
64. Today I signed up for innertube water polo with a group from my class.
65. I’ve never smoked a cigarette and I never will.
66. When I was a kid I had a penpal from Brisbane, Australia named Belinda.
67. Two people have made me scrapbooks – Michelle P and Kent.
68. I’ve never made anyone a scrapbook.
69. I dislike wearing glasses because I feel like I’m looking through a windos, so I always wear contacts.
70. I don’t know if I’d get laser eye surgery. Contacts don’t bother me at all.
71. I can’t keep a secret.
72. I love taking pictures of people, but not of things.
73. I get really excited when planning my wedding.
74. So does my mom. It’s fun.
75. Last weekend, Kent and I went to a soup festival (like a wine tasting, but soup instead) in Stratford because his soup was in it! It didn’t win, but it did sell out.
76. I love to play board games, and I’m very fortunate that Kent does too.
77. One of my best friends, Amanda, is teaching in South Korea and I am very excited for her to come home in March.
78. When we were younger, for the last week or so of summer my family would always go camping with a few of their friends and their friend’s kids, who were all friends with us. It was the best tradition ever.
79. I’ve been to a few countries in Europe – Czech Republic, Germany, France, Holland, Austria, Italy, Belgium and, Monaco.
80. I would like to go to Greece.
81. We are still trying to figure out the perfect honeymoon destination.
82. I don’t like my hair at all.
83. I love list-making. Sometimes I’ll add really obvious things like “eat dinner” so I have more things to cross off and thus can feel more accomplished.
84. I recently read Wonderful Tonight by Pattie Boyd, George Harrison and Eric Clapton’s ex wife. I now have an obsession with her and the songs written about her (Wonderful Tonight, Layla – Eric Clapton, and Sometimes – The Beatles). I like that I know who they are about.
85. I would highly doubt that I’ve ever been described as a tomboy.
86. I love fruits and veggies.
87. I got my belly button pierced when I was 17. I took it out a few years later.
88. I did a high ropes course this summer. It was very scary.
89. When we were kids, I would organize games, like house or Playmobil, for my sisters and get extremely annoyed when they would quit after a while, because I could always go on forever.
90. All of the music on my computer and ipod are songs that I liked three years ago, because I never download music anymore.
91. My laptop is four years old and I’m so proud of it for being such a trooper.
92. I’m not addicted to my cell phone at all, probably because I never text.
93. One of my favourite things to do (and it has to be buy myself) is go to Chapters, buy starbucks and read magazines there forever. If I’m with someone else they always want to leave after 10 minutes, or I have to worry that they want to leave, and it takes away every relaxing element.
94. One time a deaf man sat beside me at Chapters and started writing me messages on a sheet of paper, and I’d have to write back to him. I left when it started getting very creepy (he wrote, “Do you have a boyfriend?”)
95. It’s so weird to me that in just over six months I will be calling Kent my husband.
96. He already refers to me as his wife (just around me though) and to himself as my “hubby.”
97. I’m going to Calgary to visit Leah and Tim in a week!
98. The 10 days that we are there will be the longest amount of time Kent and I have ever spent together with no interruptions, like work or school or living apart. The true test…
99. I’m reading Lara’s 100 Things right as I write and it’s excellent!
100. I am very social but I love staying in, even if it’s by myself. I think Kent working so many long evenings has gotten me used to enjoying time by myself, and I think it’s a very positive thing.

I was JUST at chapters last night and I also love all the same things about you at chapters. But I got there with only 30 mins till closing so I had no time to relax, but just browse for a new book.
Made up words with your guy = one of the best parts of coupling.
Our words are always a mixture of two words that just explains a situation or each other better. and we both always know what the other means when two or three words are put together.
I love that all of you girls are doing this.
Also, I love buying pretty journals, but then I want to write lovely things in them… I get so self-conscious about needing to write well in the pretty books that usually they end up blank. *sigh
