Micaela’s year in review.

1. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

My resolutions were:

• To visit both sisters that live far away – which I did

• To wear high heels more often – which I didn’t… I actually embraced my flats loving self and even wore flats on my wedding day.

This year my resolutions are to get a real job and to play my guitar every day.

2. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

Erica’s wedding day, all of my wedding events like showers, stag and doe, bachelorette,  the day Kate called to tell me she is pregnant, my wedding day, my honeymoon, and the day Kent surprised me with my kitten.

3. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Becoming a teacher!, planning a sweeeet wedding.

4. What was your biggest failure?

Not doing everything I can to change the things I want to change, and letting it get me down too much sometimes.

5. Whose behavior merited celebration?

My mom’s, for being the most helpful mother of the bride I could ever ask for.

6. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

All of the things I mentioned in #2.

7. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Not sad, but definitely more frustrated.
ii. thinner or fatter? Same.
iii. richer or poorer? Richer.

8. What was the best book you read?

Belong to Me by Marisa De Los Santos

9. what did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

Kent took me to his restaurant for dinner a few days before my birthday, and on my birthday we went to the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.

10. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Anyone who knows me the littlest bit knows the answer to this one!

11. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?

Casual – for the last few months it’s hard for me to wear anything but tights.

12. What kept you sane this year?

Myself.

13. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009.

That as long as I keep a smile on my face I’ll be happy and so will the people around me. That I can’t let anyone else’s actions or emotions dictate my own.

2009 has been quite the year of ups and downs… and I am SO ready for the next one to begin.
