Leah here, again. I hope you all aren’t getting sick of me this week, but it was Erica’s turn for NaBloPoMo and she has been kind of MIA today.
This is also going to be a bit of a crapulous post because it’s 11:00pm and I’m laying in bed reading a book while Tim is watching chick flicks and KKK movies. Odd combo, I know.
I hope that you are all having a great weekend. I spent the day with a song I sang at karaoke last week in my head – Two Princes by Spin Doctors. You know, “one, two princes lay before you / that’s what I said now / princes, princes who adore you.” it happens to be a fabulous karake song and I would recommend it if you are looking for one.
Which leads me to ask, what is your go-to karaoke song?

I would say R.E.S.P.E.C.T by Aretha Fraklin. I haven’t sung Karaoke in forever! Were you at a karaoke bar?

Oooh that’s a good one. I was at Molly Malones in Kensington, they have a karaoke night on Sundays and it is usually pretty good – not too busy and lot’s of good singers!
My go-to song is Don’t Stop Belivin’ by Journey. It’s always a hit.

Totally! No karaoke night is complete without some Journey.
The only time I sung karaoke was at a friend’s apartment. I sang Big Girls Don’t Cry, and then the superintendent came to the door and told us all to STFU. The party died. I have never done karaoke since.

A.) I love that song … I don’t think I would be brave enough to sing it at a karaoke bar! B.) So embarrassing about the super! I don’t think you should let it deter you in the future…
Sweet Child of Mine by Guns & roses
or
Piano Man by Billy Joel
Come to Calgary and sing karaoke with me. I request both of those songs!
Thanks for saving the day!! Mine won’t be until later today.
As for kareoke songs… I don’t think I’ve done kareoke since university and I definitely can’t remember any songs in particular… your song questions are too hard for me!

You’re welcome for saving the day.
I agree with Mic, I can never think of a good answer for your song questions! Especially the last one.
I think my answer for this one is any Dixie Chicks song.
Remember when we had a karaoke machine at home and we would always just sit there and sing karaoke.
I think we should do karaoke at home again. Dixie Chicks song like … Goodbye Earl? Cold Day in July? You have such a beautiful voice, you should come do karaoke with me and Allison in Calgary too. I’ll provide the beer .. so long as you aren’t preggo or breastfeeding at that point. PS I feel bad for you. No beer
We still have the karaoke machine, we just don’t use it, haha. I’m with the comment above- Don’t Stop Believing. Plus it’s not really karaoke because everyone loves it, so everybody joins in!

Again, karaoke date at the farm. You’re invited. See above – Journey = epic karaoke song. Good job.
Maybe something embarrassing like Since You’ve Been Gone.
Also, I have six sisters! Only one is blonde but sisters are fun.
I totally had Kelly Clarkson in my head after this comment! Good song choice. And yay for sisters (blonde or not!). Thanks for commenting!
“These Boots Were Made for Walking” by Nancy Sinatra. Someone dared my one night and now it is usually the only one I sing!!!
Hi Aunt Patty!! Good song. Too bad there was no karaoke at the wedding for you to show off your skillllz. I got a new pair of cowboy boots and now whenever I wear them I think of that song.
I’m noticing the Don’t Stop Believing trend…Den downloaded as a surprise for me on ROCK BAND! It’s the best EVER!
OMG…that’s so funny!! I haven’t heard that song in forever and those are NOT what I thought the words were. All these years I’ve been singing the WRONG words. And I’m like the lyric police!!! I’m so ashamed…hahaha!!!!
