I always think to myself, it’s a damn good thing that Mom gave me (all of us) $500 on our 18th birthday as an incentive for not smoking, because I have a seriously addictive personality, and I know that if I started smoking, I wouldn’t be able to stop (also, smoking is gross). There are some amazing things in this world that I get so easily addicted to. These things range from cereal, to televsion shows, to games, to a pair of jeans, to Pepsi, to writing checks and online banking and so on. Okay, I realize some of these things aren’t actually addictions (slash all of them) but whatever! I am not talking about addictions in the true definition of the word, but addictions as defined in my reality.
My addiction for today (and my amazingly lovely and wonderful Twitter friends may already know this) is this video. Watch and enjoy, my friends.
I e-mailed it to a team member today, and all he had to say is “Leah, where would we be in this world without music.” I have watched it no less than eight times today, and each time my heart bursts a little bit more.

What that man can do with a cello is no less than inspiring! Mr Piano man is pretty darn excellent himself! His arrangement is stellar. Thanks Leah, you can be addicted to that kind of thing all you want! Stay away from tobacco though girl or I’ll have to take back the $500 bucks(by the way it was dad’s idea!)You know the sheet music is coming out….Can’t you see Erica and Kate doing this at Mic’s wedding?

I wish my mum had given me $500 to not smoke.. but then again i started earlier than 18.. ( although i can happily say i have no smoked since I found out i was preggers with Liam..didn’t even go back to it like i did with Thomas! )
I keep playing it over and over and Thomas keeps saying ” mummy, we’ve heard this already.. a lot.. next one please” gotta love 3 yr olds.
Oh, I get addicted to things so easily, too! I’m just glad I haven’t tried anything harder, and simply have to struggle with things like junk food. I suppose it could still kill me, though…

I clicked on your tweet to watch that video, and if you scroll to the bottom it has the three latest tweets that people put up with links to the video, and when I was looking at it one of them was a re-tweet of yours! So your twitter name was on the page! I thought that was cool. I trie to tweet that to you but it took way more than 140 characters so I gave up.
I am with you on the addictive personality.. only I think of it as that I become obsessed/fall in love with things very easily. This was reinforced to me when I was doing my gift registry, by the time I left the store I had fallen head over heels in love with every single sheet, towel, dish, and butter knife I registered for. It’s kinda lame but it makes the world much more fun this way. Writing cheques though? I don’t think I’ll ever be addicted to that. I was addicted to my bank account when I worked at Libro. I checked it like 3249038 times a day even though I knew nothing new had happened. Now I try to avoid it because it’s just depressing!

I don’t think any of those are fake examples of things you can become addicted to!
Great video!
that was beautiful. thank you so much for sharing. (i caught your blog from an old link on the pioneer woman.)
I don’t think I have an addictive personality, but I’ve never tried a cigarette because I’m afraid I’ll get hooked. I’ve seen people try to quit and it’s awful. I don’t want to even start!

I love, love, LOVE this song. I listen to it no less than 3 or 4 times a day – thank you!!
My fav part is when they go into the ’singing’ – gives me goosebumps!
As for the addiction part, um, yeah, totally hear you on that. Unfortunately my addictions took a nasty turn for a couple of years – but thankfully the only one left is smoking.
There was rumours around my house too about getting paid $$ for not smoking on turning 18, but I started at 14…kinda wish it was a payout each year you didn’t smoke from 13-18, cuz when you’re that age 18 seems SOOOO far away. Anyway. Lovely song
