First things first: Hello Boston Metro readers! Welcome to Five Blondes.com. Lauren will take your coats, Leah has the drinks going at the bar, Kate is our official photographer, Micaela is chillin’ in the lounge, and me? Well, I’ve got the music going. Stay a while!
I got a new toy last week and whenever I say the name, I think of the song Sh-Boom by the Crew Cuts. It just words so perfectly! Yup, I got a Zune. This was not based on any recommendations from any big time bloggers living on a ranch in Oklahoma, no-sir-ee, this is what I wanted.
I know I’m probably going to get some flack from the ‘iPod lovers’ out there, but that’s OK. I have an iPod. I’ve tried it. Granted, I have an older generation (a mini), but it just never agreed with me quite like the Zune does. The clickwheel on the iPod was really touchy and I could never get it to work right. I guess I’m clickwheel deficient. Also, iTunes won’t install properly on my computer - what’s with that?
Anyway, yeah, my Zune. I had my favorite podcasts and (legally attained) MP3s on it within moments as well as a cute background! I’m a little old-skool in that I love listening to the radio - that’s one of my favorite parts of the Zune, the FM radio tuner! I have the dial permanently stuck on BX93 (Country music! *ducks to avoid tomatoes being thrown*) and it’s perfect for my bike to work.
There are many iPods owned by my family and friends, so I want to ask you guys: Would you ever consider a Zune?
Thanks for reading! Did you know you can get Five Blondes delivered (semi) daily? Just click for our RSS feed. See you soon!

YES!!! YES YES YES I WOULD!!
I hate iPods - apparently everyone in the world except my boyfriend knows this, ocnsidering h ebught me one for my birthday, whcih I have used a total of ZERO times. I think Lauren has used it more than me. I didn’t know how to get past the first song.
I am considering this ZUNE thingy! I have diligently competed for one in the contests on that big time blogger living on a ranch in Oklahoma’s contests, but alas, with no prevail.

Let me the first iPod lover to well, politely disagree. Well, that’s not entirely true. My cousin has the Zune and I thought it was pretty slick. Since we use an iMac at home - it just seemed natural to me to go with the iPod. Mine is not super old and is held together with a combination of electrical tape and prayers. It barely plays now bu emotional attachment will not allow me to replace it quite yet. Oh, and I got your note about the passes - very sweet but I wouldn’t dream of it — thanks anyway. Keep on rockin’ out (or whatever the *bleck* BX93 equivalent is) and cheers!

BTW - I have yet to try the Fox but I will the next time I go out for sure. You will keep the hail away?

No worries, all the hail fell on us on Saturday!
I’m an ipod user but it’s due to the fact I’m a…mac user. I love the radio though and I’m definitely not opposed to the zune. I guess I just don’t know anyone who owns one. It sounds like a good fit for you!
I’m on my second Ipod- as you might know, since mom washed mine!. I would probably try a Zune, but I wouldn’t buy one without trying it first.

LOVE our ipod touch. It’s perrrfect for travelling and I just can’t beat watching a movie at the gym!
Ok, what exactly is a Zune??? I’m technology deficit.

I feel like all mp3 players that are not ipods look exactly like ipods and are just trying to cash in on the fame… the zune looks just like one to me!
“(legally attained) MP3s”
If you’re listening to the music yourself, privately, then I think it is very difficult to obtain illegal MP3 files:
