Sometimes I feel the need to combine weeks on the blog so that it’s not overly consumed by all things baby, which is really all that is on my mind lately (that, and food).
So what has happened in the past few weeks…
- I got an ultrasound! It will likely be my one and only in this pregnancy, so I was very excited for it. First Scott had to stay in the waiting room and I just had to lay there while the ultrasound tech moved the wand all over my belly. It was relaxing, however a bit frightening because if something horrible had happened to raspberry that is when we would find out. Then Scott got to come in the the ultrasound tech showed us our baby! We got to see raspberry move its arms and open and close it’s mouth. It was amazing. We won’t get all our results until we see the doctor in September, but everything seemed great! The tech said that raspberry is measuring about a week behind, so I’m not sure if my due date will change. Again I won’t find out until I see the doc, so until then I’m keeping my dates.
- I’m so excited to be 19 weeks! That is so close to 20 weeks, which is HALFWAY. Holy cow where did the time go? 19 weeks also means the baby is the length of a MANGO!

- Am I still puking? Yes, I am. Every morning. Sucks to be me. Today I tried everything in my power not to puke. I woke up, laid in bed for a bit, got up and put bread in the toaster and then ate it right away. I thought I was doing well until I drank some water and then it just had to come up. P.S. Puking up toast is totally gross. I’ll spare you the details.
- My baby belly is getting larger every day. However it changes so much. Some days Scott will say “I see the baby!” and other days “The baby is hiding today” I guess it depends on where baby raspberry is hanging out.
- And continuing with the larger belly thing, every morning when I wake up my belly feels so stretched! This should be a daily reminder for me to use my stretch mark cream. Gotta try and keep those suckers away.
- We also found out at the ultrasound that I have an anterior placenta. Meaning that the placenta is developing on the front of my uterus. And because of that I won’t feel large movements for a while, but I might feel them either really low or really high. I think I’ve been feeling a bit of movements, really low. It feels like little pops in my belly, but I can only feel it when I lay really still.
- We signed up for a pre-natal class that begins in September. It is held once a week for 5 weeks. I’m not really sure what or how much I’ll learn but I think it’s important to go. Our friends Laura & Matt, who are expecting their first child December 31st are also signed up for the class.
- And I leave you with some belly shots behind the cut…

So I’m guessing you’re going to not find out the sex of the baby? I think that’s the way to go, myself – if I ever get pregnant. Man I feel old. Anyway, my guess is that the 5 blonde family full of girls may very well have their first (maybe/maybenot) blonde boy.
you and your puking! Geez, girl. I feel for you and yet, better you than me. I’d be a raging bitch for sure:)
Cannot believe you are almost halfway done.
Also, your bump is adorable. Can’t wait til I get one.
And yes I DO love to comment on your pregnancy posts. Can’t believe you figured me out that way!

My Mother in Law told me that to stop morning sickness one should eat crackers before their feet touch the floor. Hopefully this is an old wives tale that works!
It has grown soo much since Mic’s wedding when I last saw you!!!
This is so exciting!

OMG, Raspberry is growing up so fast! I just love looking at the ultrasound pictures. Your time is really going to start to fly by fast once you reached the half way point. That is when nesting mode starts to kick in, which I see has already started for you if you have signed up for your classes already. I hope you get over the sickness part of it soon, no fun…

Carol- Leah’s post is back up! Thanks for the comment.
Nancy- nope, not finding out the sex. And you are joining a large group of people who also think baby raspberry is a BOY! Guess we will find out in January (or Feb!)
Julia- I think you are going to have to wait for a bump because girl you are tiny!
Sally- I tried the crackers thing a while ago. It didn’t work for me. Maybe I’ll have to try again just to see.
Leah- I know, crazy right?
Farming- I’m looking forward to nesting mode. Yesterday I finally had the urge to clean the kitchen, which Scott was SO happy about. Can’t wait to see photos of your little baby boy soon!
