26 Weeks

in Scott & Kate Plus One, pregnancy

This is the week I decided that instead of actually telling people how I feel, I will tell them that I feel pregnant. That about sums it up. Basically that means a combo of feeling tired and uncomfortable. I actually told someone this week that I felt good, and for the next 2 days (so far..) I got kicked in the butt for saying that… (aka puking in the morning). That’s why I decided on the I feel pregnant comment.

I also decided this week that I have an ugly baby belly.  It’s just weird and flat and not very cute! I don’t mind looking at it from the front but these side shots with my shirt up looks WEIRD!  Seems like this was the week of decisions for me.  (Ps notice those pants, totally not maternity, what’s up with my pants still fitting? I think I’m going to stop wearing them soon though, just because really, when else do I get a good excuse to wear stretchy top jeans?)

On Friday & Saturday Scott and I are going shopping in the states! We are going to Michigan. The reason for our trip is to go out for dinner on Saturday for my father in  law’s birthday, and we decided to make it into a baby shopping trip.  We have 1 thing for sure that we want to get (we think). This dresser from IKEA, which is $100 CHEAPER in the states. Who makes these prices? It’s just not fair.

Other then the IKEA stop, we want to check Babies-R-Us, Target and all the other goodness that the US has to offer.  I also hope to buy a few pieces of maternity clothing.

So does anyone have some good suggestions for stores to go to-  for baby stuff and maternity clothes. Please and Thanks!

You don’t have an ugly baby belly! You are adorable, in fact this week’s belly pic is the cutest so far because you look the most pregnant!

I saw that dresser at IKEA this weekend and LOVED it … good choice!

PS – I like your new “I feel pregnant” line!

I think your pants still fit because you are carrying pretty high. You look great and the bump is NOT ugly.

Also, you will die at Ikea over all of their great stuff. We looked at that dresser, too. See what you think in person….I was hoping for more but wasn’t as big of a fan once I saw and felt it.

Enjoy your trip!!

Yay Michigan! Except I assume you’ll be on the east side, which is not where I am. But still, yay Michigan! Have fun shopping.

I have that Desser! And I love it…but I’m sad that I could have gotten it cheaper in the states.

I think your belly is cute! Maybe you are carrying high, and that’s why your pants still fit!

I thnk yours is the most beautiful baby bump I have ever seen! It will round out, and then you will want it to be flat again – so enjoy it while you can! Plus, you haven’t gained any weight at all – you are still a skinny minny!

We have Babies R Us and a bunch of those “USA” stores out here in little Texas aka Alberta. Ask Leah to pick stuff up for you to bring home for Christmas if you don’t get it this trip! (Like Bed, Bath and Beyond and Bath and Body Works!)

Glad to see the raspbaby is doing well, I told Leah I am betting on it being a birthday twin to me! January 24 is my prediction.

Jamie- Thanks for the links!
sparkly- Thanks!
Stef- I know, everytime I see that dresser I love it, so hopefully I love it when I am actually thinking of purchasing it too.
Thanks Julia! I guess I’ll see what I think in person of the dresser.
Doahleigh- Yes we will probably be sticking to the east side of Michigan, are there good stores there?
Rachel- That’s what lots of people are commenting- about carrying high. I guess I can’t really tell when people are carrying high or low, it all looks the same to me!
Leah- thanks but actually I’ve gained 12 whole pounds so far! (I gained 5 pounds in the last month)

You look great! I carried both of our girls really high and gave in to maternity pants at 5 months. They were awesome. Even though I thought I was still comfortable in my regular jeans, nothing beats a soft elastic band around your belly. Take the excuse to wear comfy clothes :)

Kate; you look AWESOME… it’s all baby!!!!! Enjoy your trip and hope you score lots in baby stuff!!! :D

UMM… your baby belly is freaking adorable! And your pants still fit you because you’re not a freaking cow like I was (up 20lbs by the time I was where you are). Enjoy being one of those rare, cute, tiny pregnant ladies. You’re a doll! :)

Be glad your pants still fit. That probably means that you aren’t pulling them up a million times a day, as you would be doing if your were wearing maternity pants. Those stretchy tops are comfy, but really should come with shoulder straps, although i did see aneat little elastic with clips on both ends that attached to your bra. I never tried it. As for stores, I liked motherhood and thyme and for baby clothes, carters is good but I don’t know if they have a store.

I think your baby bump is cute but I understand. Mine is all over the place and not a cute round perfect ball. I’ve had good luck so far at Gap and Old Navy Maternity. Also check out Liz Lang for Target. I didn’t like Pea in the Pod and Motherhood very much.
I’ll be buying most of my baby furniture at Ikea since a lot of the baby store stuff is just too cutsey.
Love your blog
