30 Weeks!!

Another post by Kate and another baby post, surprise surprise!

30 weeks~ that means I’m 3/4 through this pregnancy!!

This week the baby is still moving like crazy!  Sometimes the feelings are really intense and get uncomfortable, like an elbow sticking into my belly. It’s almost like the baby thinks my belly is an egg that it can crack to get out sooner and is trying with all its might to crack me. But really it’s just because the baby is getting bigger and room is not at a premium anymore!

I took this photo on Thursday night: 30 weeks + 3 days

The pregnancy book I have told me to read ahead to the labor and delivery chapter, which freaked me out a bit.  But made sense, I guess I won’t have time to be reading a book about it when I’m experiencing it!

This week I have really noticed that I’m really exhausted at the end of the day.  It’s probably my body telling me that I need to slow down, but there’s just no time for that.  I’m the one who needs to keep people working in the lab at work, and because I’d rather be outside combining, the only way that is possible is to come in work early, or work like crazy to build up lots of tasks for people in the lab so I can get outside!  It’s getting tiring though.  I get to combine on Saturday, so I’m looking forward to that, and we have a great weekend planned after that!

Last weekend Erica and D came over and we started painting the baby room. I choose a Behr paint called Oakwood Brown. I took some photos of the progress but will wait to post them here until the painting is complete. It’s a darker brown then I originally thought, but I really like it.

Yesterday Scott’s parents purchased us a baby/Christmas present… they bought us our stroller/car seat!  It was a hard decision but ultimately this is what I fell in love with and just couldn’t get it out of my mind.  Another thing that basically sold it was how small it folds up.  I drive a Chevy Cobalt and the opening to the trunk is really small and this stroller fits inside fairly easily.

This is what we picked out:

A green ‘Stroll-air

stroll air

It comes with so many accessories it really was hard to say no! It includes:

  • aluminum frame
  • stroller seat with hood
  • bassinette with mattress and hood
  • wind cover
  • diaper bag with changing pad (probably going to be Scott’s because it’s black and I want a cute one!)
  • umbrella
  • shopping basket for under
  • mosquito net
  • rain cover
  • tire pump (back wheels are air filled)
  • infant cat seat adapter

And the car seat that we got with it is the Peg Perego Black Tie, I love the white stitching on the black seat.

Anyone have any experience with the Stroll-Air Zoom stroller? I’m really looking forward to using it and the car seat, January better hurry up and get here!

67 DAYS!

I saw this picture on flickr last night and my first reaction was “OMG I know you’ve been pregnant for a while but you look so beautiful! You’re like a maternity model!!”

If your blogging this has taught me anything it’s that pregnancy moves FAST, I keep coming here thinking your razzle baby is still going to be razzle sized, and then here you are 3/4 of the way through!!

    So happy for you =)

Can’t WAIT to see you on Sunday! Maybe inappropriately put my hand up your shirt again while thinking it is a totally normal thing to do…

Bump-a-licious! I want to feel this ninja-star kick on Saturday.

  6. Leah says:

I want to feel the kick too! Sad that I never will :(

Kyla is right, by the way. You look like a maternity model. It honestly looks as though you haven’t gained an ounce anywhere else on your body other than your belly.

I loved when Mic and I first learned that it started kicking we would just sit there with our hands on your belly, haha.

Thanks for all the nice comments! Sometimes it’s hard to feel pretty when I move so slow and feel lots of pain from different parts of my body.

Julia- good luck picking out your stroller! It’s such a hard decision, and you never really know if you made the right choice until the baby is here.
Lauren- we choose the Green one! It’s so pretty.
Kyla- pregnancy does go by pretty quickly. At first it seems slow, but once you begin to show the belly just keeps growing!
Mic- no hand up the shirt touching at the shower please! We need to let people ‘think’ that we are normal.

I love that you were thinking about the size of your trunk and fitting the stroller in when shopping. My inlaws bought our stroller and car seat combo before I had a chance to go looking, we have a graco quatro tour, with the safe seat. I love the car seat because it goes up to 30 lbs, and I love the stroller, but the first time I tried to put it in the trunk of my mazda 626, i couldn’t fit it in and it had to ride in the front seat. I since mastered it and then traded up to my mom station wagon, no problems anymore.

That’s so weird I commented on Katia’s blog, Good Finking, as she commented on my blog. I noticed that Leah had commented before me and followed her link and landed up on this blog. My wife and I just gave birth to a baby girl last Monday Nov 9 and the past week we have been newbie parents. While awake at 4 am in the morning sleep deprived I started blogging which lead me to this blog.

We also went through the reviewing car seats and strollers. We landed up with the Peg Perego but with the grey seat which we brought our little girl home in. Nurses mentioned it is one of the best, so did the advisor at the car seat workshop we attended. As for a stroller we looked at quite a few and landed up with the Bugaboo Cameleon before the prices went up.
