Just a quick update from pregnant Kate:
I’m at 33 weeks, with only 7 weeks to go! I had a doctor’s appointment, and was scared to see that I had gained 6 pounds, in 2 weeks! Yikes! I’ve gained 24 lbs so far… I only wanted to gain about 25, but looks like I’ll be gaining more then that. I’m really not all that concerned about my weight gain, but it is kind of scary to just let myself go and watch as the pounds pile on. My belly measured 31 weeks, so yay baby grew! I don’t really see much of a difference in my belly, and even when I compare my photos over the last few weeks I don’t really notice a big difference. I feel like I am carrying a beach ball on my belly, and this photo I took today confirms that fact! My next appointment is in 2 weeks and after that my appointments will be WEEKLY! Holy cow time flies.
I’ve noticed over the past few weeks that I’m developing a linea nigra on my belly, and I have a WEIRD circle around my belly button. But I also decided that I don’t think my belly button is going to pop, it’s just too comfortable where it is.
Today my co-workers surprised me at work with lunch and a baby shower! They got me good and were so generous! They got me gift cards with ideas of what to get at each store:
- The Bay-to get baby clothes
- Babies-R-Us- for fun toys and supplies
- Cheeky Monkey- for cloth diapers
- Shoppers- for any extras, including chocolate (they know me well)
- The Keg- a meal for Scott and me -no babies
The nursery is still not completed, and I’m still torn about which dresser to get. But the room is now totally painted so it’s all the easy stuff that comes next!

Try not to worry about the pounds. I hear that bending over to pick up a baby is a better work-out than having a full time trainer — plus, so much cuter — (well, that is, depending on the trainer — but definitely a different kind of cute, right?)

Dont be worrying about the weight, it’s good and healthy! and you look great!!
just be glad you haven’t put like 40lbs on!!! haha.. and you’ll lose it all before you know it, it always happens that way with your 1st, any after that you have to actually try.. haha..

The weight looks like it’s all for the baby. I bet people can’t even tell you are pregnant from behind. Too Cute! I can’t believe time is going so quickly.
