I Hate To Love

I had a post written going through our mini-vacation last week, but once I was finished it I re-read it and 90% or it was boring as hell. “We did this…we did that…” I know you don’t want to read that! So instead, I’ll just say how great it was to spend some time away, buy fabric for my wedding dress (it’s so be-yoo-ti-ful!), and of course, meet Reggy! We had a great time strolling down Queen St. and giggling over dirty words on notepads in Urban Outfitters. I hope to get together with her again in the future :D

Good news, everyone – It’s Friday! I had an idea for an interesting post while making a bagel today. I’ve seen many bloggers do ‘love lists’, but I’ve never seen a ‘hate to love’ list. I’m starting a new trend!

I hate to love…

  1. Cafe Mochas from Starbucks. This is probably going to surprise some people! I’ve recently discovered that my tummy does not get along well with dairy products. Actually, I figured this out long ago but decided to ignore it, until last Friday when my tummy made me remember. It remembered just over the railing of the back porch at mom and dad’s. Whoops!
  2. Photography. Because I want so bad to be good at it yet am consistently shown up by my incredible sisters. Jealous.
  3. Web design. Again, because I want so bad to be good at it but lack the time to learn!
  4. Butter. I love butter. Mr. X is not a fan. Also, butter storage? Not so easy to manage. Keep it out of the fridge and it gets greasy and the cat might nose into the cupboard, lick it, and leave greasy pawprints around the house. Keep it hard in the fridge and it is so difficult to use when you need it!
  5. Home design TV shows. Ideas for my non-existent home! “Oh wow, look at that cabinet! That would look so great over…um…or…crap.”

Five seems like a good list, so I’m going to stop here. What do you hate to love?

I hate to love VH1 reality shows. They are so bad and cheeze but they are so good.

i have a solution to your butter problem!! there’s a little kitchen shop near me that sells “butter keepers” that allow you to keep your butter out of the fridge and soft, but it won’t go bad. My mom is in loooove with hers and they work so well. Let me know if this is a must have for you, cause i could pick one up. i think they’re around $10?

Popcorn is a hate to love for me. I eat a lot of popcorn, but the thing about popcorn is it’s not that healthy (I load mine with butter and salt) and I doesn’t really fill you up. When the popcorn gets into your stomach it just turns into mush and I am always still hungry after.
And microwave popcorn .. don’t even get me started. In first year residence I ate like two bags a day. Maybe thats why I gained 25 pounds that year … hmmm.

I see a butter dish with a lid in your future.

I hate to love Starbucks as well. It gets so pricy. I also hate to love fast food. I would eat it everyday if it wasn’t so terrible…like that commercial that says “I’ll take the thunder thighs and the ga-dunk-a-dunk butt.”

I’m going to agree with Leah on popcorn – I make it on the stove and am totally addicted.
And staying up/out late. I LOVE and I hate going to bed early but it’s never fun the next day.

All I think of when anyone says “butter dish” is the gross plastic one we had growing up. It was half-melted (the plastic!) by something, maybe it was too close to the stove at one point?
But Allison, yeah, I would love it if you could pick me up a butter keeper!

Haha it was so melted and gross but we always kept it anyways!!! I am going to have to invest in a butter dish. Tim is a keep-it-in-the-fridge guy but I say let it free! Plus it’s nice not to have to smear rock-hard butter onto my cinnamon rasin toast in the morning.

I hate to love spending endless hours browsing peoples’ blogs and occasionally scribbling on my own.

Funny how it works… we hate everything we are not good at or are unable to attain.

Ehh… Such is life.
