Adventures with the Sixth Blonde

After 14 months of anticipation, two almost-visits and many phone calls (in varying time zones and emotional states), my best friend and I are reunited.

Leah & Stef

Stef got here July 1st, and after a tearful airport reunion, it’s been fun showing her around my city and what my life here is like. Although she’s been busy working at the Calgary Stampede, we’ve made lots of time for girl talk, dancing, waiting in bar lines for far too long (cough*three hours*cough), breaking rules and just being us.

She’s kind of always been like another sister to us. I distinctly remember an occasion when four of the Blondes and Stef were sitting together and a women complimented my Mom on how nice it was to see all of the girls together and we all just smiled and nodded (and giggled). The nice thing about friends that are like family is that you can always pick up right where you left off, no matter what life throws at you in between those times. Since the last time I saw this girl, I moved across the country, she moved across the world and back, she graduated University (valedictorian I might add!), Erica got married, Mic got engaged, Kate got knocked up.

On Friday, Stef myself and my best Calgary girlfriend Natalie went out dancing and I couldn’t stop beaming at the thought of having my two greatest friends not only in the same room as me, but also getting along so well.

It’s been a blast having Stef here, and she’s moving in for a week on Thursday, so all I have to say is, Watch Out Tim!

Very happy for you No.4 ;) Its always good to be in your situation, so much to talk about and the deep satisfying connection of an well aged relationship.

I felt like that when I came back to Canada and connected with my best mates.

Have a great week.

Haha I totally had it wrong. Wasn’t Lara in Calgary too though? I must’ve misread a tweet somewhere! You two look great! And so glad you had a great weekend together :)

Happy that you two are finally reunited! And again in a month!

I’m not really the biggest fan of you having visitors though. I mean blogs to read make it a bit better but I do miss your constant calls and texts. I am expecting a good one once all your peeps are gone!
